“GOING BACK”

HOSPITAL, FEES PAID. VIORF SHOULD MEET CHARGES. The statement that the Wellington Hospital was going to the bad at the late of £3OOO per month on its fees, was made by Mr A. J. McCurdy at tho Wellington Hospital Board yesterday. The total fees owing during July, August and September, lie said, was £12,359. The actual receipts were July £1336, August £907, September £1049, a total of £3291. The hospital_ expenses during that period were £75,770. Many of the people who er.terel the hospital could afford to pay their fees and should do so. Mr I. H. Bertram: We seem to be going back badly, and we need some more up-to-date method of dealing with the matter I think that if the payment of fees was dependant upon our knowledge of the patients little money would be collected.
