THAMES ENGINEER
ASKED TO WITHDRAW RESIGNATION.
Per Press Association. THAMES, October 24. The question of the borough engineer's resignation came before the BorOLgh Council at a meeting last night, when the Finance Committee’s report was brought down. The committee recommended that the engineer, Mi E. F. Adams, b© asked to withdraw his resignation, and that he be appointed at a remuneration of 5 per cent, on all new work up to £25,000 per annum on the average expenditure dating back to January, 1921, and 1 per cent in excess of that figure; that the council should appoint an assistant engineer at a salary of £350, and that all work:, and employees should bo under the direct control and supervision of the engineer, who shall receive all instructions. The report was adopted, ono councillor objecting to tho appointment of the assistant.
