SMALL SCHOOLS
CONSOLIDATION PROPOSALS.
The Minister for Education has written .is follows to the Dominion executive of the Farmers’ Union: “The question of tho consolidation of small schools for the purpose of providing more efficient instruction for children in remote districts is receiving attention. “I may say that at present I am considering proposals in this connection in the North Island, and propose, after the session, to inquire on the spot into similar proposals in the South Island.”
