AFRICAN VETERANS
FIRST CONTINGENT FOB GATHER.
There was a representative gatherin4 of members of the First South African Contingent at the annual dinner which was held in Dustin's rooms, members having journeyed from all parte of the Dominion in order to he present. MajorGeneral Sir A. W. Robin was in the chair.
Tho proceedings were of an exceptionally cordial nature. Friends who had not met for many years welcomed each other, incidents relative to-the campaign were recalled, and a happy evening mas spent. It wae a gatliering of a brotherhood which had the welfare of each member at heart-, and kindly and feeling reference was made respecting those who had crossed tho great divide
Man\- songs and stories were provided by the brotherhood, the loving cup was passed round, and the proceedings terminated with the singing of the National Anthem.
