DISPUTES AT TAUPIRI
MR E. C. OUTTEN TO MEDIATE.
Mr E. O. Cutten, S.M., of Anclrland, lias been appointed chairman of a committee set up to deal with certain minor points in dispute aa to working conditions at the Tauipin Coal Mine, one of the questions being as to whether certain miners are entitled to special “dip heading” pay for work done in a particular head, the contention of the union being that the particular conditions of working at that head are not covered by the award. Mr B. 1,. Hammond, assistant secretary of the Now Zealand Employers’ Federation, will act as the coal-mino owners’ representative, and left Wellington by the Main Trunk yesterday
