TIMARU SPRING SHOW
RECORD ENTRIES. Per Press Association. TIMARU, October 24. Tlie Timaru Show opened to-day in fine though boisterous weather. The entries in all classes constitute a record, reaching a total of fifteen hundred. The following championships were decided: (SHEEP CLASSES. English Leicesters —Ram, W. J. Holland. Shropshire Downs—Ram, R. Parry. Southdowns—Ram and ewe, John Grigg (Longbeach). Ryclands—Ram and ewe, J. Brooks. Corriedales —Ram and ewe, I. Andrew; halfbred ewe, H. Barton. Merinos—Ram and ewe, F. H. Smith. Boarder Leicesters —Ram, A. M. Copland. ewe, A. Ward. Romney Marsh Ram and ewe, J. Grigg. CATTLE CLASSES. Cattle were an exceptionally strong section, the Jerseys being of a particularly good class. The championship awards were: — Shorthorns—Cow and bull, J. Mcßride. Fricsiana-—Cow, H. Allnutt; bull, J. McAnulty. Registered Jerseys—Cow, R. Maddren; bull, J. Leonard.
