MAGISTRATE’S COURT
YESTERDAY'S SITTINGS. Police and indictable offences wera dealt with by Mr E. Page, S.M., at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, there being also a long list of remand cases. Two first offenders for insobriety were fined ss. or twenty-four hours.; the other was ordered to forfeit the amount of his bail. 10s. For his second_lapse. John Sheriff, aged 40. was fined 10s, in default forty-eight hours in custody. For failure to maintain his three ehildien. Frank Henderson, was sentenced to three months* imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended >o long as £1 10s a week is paid. A remand until this. (Thursday} morning was granted in the case of William Frederick Brittain, who appeared on a similar charge, and whose arrears were said to total £29 lfis.
