ROAD-WIDENING SCHEME
A meeting of the Wellington Harbour Board was held Inst night, when there were present: Messrs G. Mitchell (chairman), M. Cohen, J. G. Cob.be, J. W. McEwan, H. D. Bennett, D. J. McGowan, C. J. B. Norwood, J. G. Harkness, T. R. Bauer, F. Moss, 0. M. Turret], Captain C. McArthur, H. E. Nicholls (secretary), and J. Marchbanks (general manager and chief engineer). Leave of absence was granted Captain C. F. Froafc.
The bank pass books showed a credit balance of £37,799 5s 5d on the current account and £4728 193 on the imprest account. The amount at fixed deposit was £95,000. The sum of £29,066 2s lOd was passed for payment. On the recommendation of the wharves and accounts committee, it was decided to grant the City Corporation, subject to tfle approval of the Governor-General-in-Council, permission to encroach on the sea front of Evans Bay in the vicinity of Point Jerningkam for road-widening purposes.
