EVENING CLASSES
AFTER A DAY’S WORK. OPINION OF MEDICAL ASSOCIATION. The following question was recently submitted by tne Wellington Technical College Board of Governors to the Wellington branch of the British Medical Association: —“At what age is it safe, from the point of view of the health of the community, to require the average boys or girls to do not less than two hours’ study in the evening for about four evenings per week after they have already done from seven to eight hours’ work in their ordinary occupation ?” To this question the following reply was received by the Board of Governors last night:—“After discussion, it was resolved unanimously: ’That 15 years is a safe age for the child of average fitness. In any case where the question of physical fitness is in doubt a medical certificate should be obtained,”
