A LEAN LAND. Mr George Warrington has returned from a visit to the South Island, and he is now satisfied that the North Island, and particularly Opotiki, is not such a had place in which to live after all (says tho Opotiki “Herald”). Talking on the subject of his tour, Mr W nrrington said that ho visited a certain saleyard way down south, nnd it gave him the creep*. “I believe,' he stated, “that the yards were the fiamo ones they had had fifty years ago. and tin- cattb* looked as if they had come out <>l the Ark and had been depasturing on sandhills ever since.
