THROWN FROM CART
DRIVER’S NARROW ESCAPE.
As a result of part of the harness on his cart giving way, a carrier named Charles David Free sustained minor injuries to the head and face yesterday morning. The horse, which became uncontrollable, bolted with its cart-load of coal down Crawford road, Kilbirnie, ultimately smashing into the side of a house in front of Dillon’s store. The driver, who is a married man, aged 30, residing at Tahini road, Miramar, fortunately escaped with slight injuries, and ■was admitted to the hospital at 12.30 p.m. He is reported to be progressing favourably.
