At the wool Aales the market was firm at late rJCates, with the exception of broad-fibred and thinly-grown and duety wools, which sold irregularly. Skirtings and lambs’ wool realised up to late rates Comebacks and crossbreds were also in food demand. Greasy merinos sold to lid. LONDON PRODUCE MARKET HIGH COMMISSIONER’S CABLE. The following cable haa been received from the Higi Commissioner in respect to the London wool and hemp market by the. Department of Agriculture:— Hemp.—Freight from Manila to Great Britain and Continent vas reduced by 60s per tr*n as from October 13th; freight to United States is to be reduced by 17s per ton as from December Ist, 1923. Prices declined early this week about 40s per ton, . but at the close the market was firm with a good demand.
