INTERCESSORY SERVICE
The citizens* service of intercession, held in the Concert Chamber, was presided over by the Mayor. There was a good attendance, and a devotional spirit characterised the occasion. Prayer was offered by the Rev. W. Maurice Holland and Messrs J. TV. Butler and H. S. Hart. Scripture passages were read as follow;—Daniel, sth chapter, by the chairman; Isaiah, 43rd 1 chapter, by Mr E. P. Hay; and St. John Bth chapter, 12-36, by Mr E. S. Mirams. Mr J ; Mann accompanied on the piano the singing of several favourite hymns.
