PERMISSION SOUGHT.
By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright (Sydney “Sun” Cable.) LONDON, October 21.
There is intense public indignation over the decision to abandon tho usual Armistice Day service at the Cenotaph because tho day falls on a Sunday, and to substitute a morning service in Westminster Abbey, which the King will attend, but to which admission will bo by ticket only. Although tho officials, assert that the congregation will be thoroughly representative of the Empire, protest is popularly voiced against the exclusivemss of the sendee.
General Booth, of the Salvation Army, on learning of the arrangements, immediately applied for permission to personally conduct a service at the Cenotaph, and this will probably ho granted.
