Lady Dirasdalc. widow_ of Sir John Dintsdale, who shot himself in a churchyard at Wliitstable. in April, was remanded at Canterbury on a charge of •attempting suicide. She save lierseli into custody, saying that she had three times walked into the sea, bul had failed to drown, as the waves washed her back. She had no friends in till world, and wished she had her hu» band's pistol to do the job properly. The police evidence stated that a resident found her wandering, and gate her a bed; but she climbed out of tha window. She lmd been working in an hotel in Switzerland, and was depressed because she had insufficient money to buy decent clothes.
