“LIKE FRESH MEAT"
AFTER DEFROSTING PROCESS. SUCCESSFUL TEST. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association LONDON, October 19. Thoro have been two further demonstrations of tlie Alcock defrosting piocess of dealing with meat, both of lvliiqh wane much more satisfactory than that tried on October 11th. The latest demonstration showed no trace of liquid, while the bloom, general appearance, and condition were indistinguishable from those of fresh meat. Hindquarters, which are the most difficult to defrost, were used in all the demonstrations. Portions wore afterwards distributed to test their eating qualities, and tho consensus of opinion was that the meat was equal to fresh. The Australia House officials, who were actively associated with the demonstration, are convinced that the process is of the utmost importance, and opens up wide possibilities in the frozen meat trade. A further demonstration. at which members of the Board of Trade will be present, will be held shortly.
