Alaunganui was to have left San Francisco yesterday for Papeete amt Rarotonga, en route to Wellington. She is due here on November 9th. COALS FROM NEWCASTLE. An arrival at Wellington yesterday morning was the Union Company’s steamer Waipori, with 2600 tons of coal from Newcastle, via Picton. The vessel left Newcastle on October 10th, and made a comparatively fine weather trip until Cook Strait was reached, when she struck a gale from the south-south-east, with big"seas. It. was decided to run to Long Island ( Queen Charlotte Sound) for .shelter, and this was done, tho vessel arriving at the anchorage on Wednesday afternoon last.
