ROUTINE MATTERS. The Mayor (Mr R. A. Wright, M Pi piesided over a full attendance of the City Council. Instructions were issued to the city engineer’s department to test all flushing cisterns whether worked by a valve 01 otherwise, and if found vork satisfactorily. to approve of the.N being erected in Wellington even though they did not comply with the conditions of the bylaw regarding height of cisterns from the pedestal. The AVellington Cricket Association wrote asking for permission to make a charge for the first, match of the season on November 20th and 27tli, and this was granted. The committee appointed in connection wit'll tenders for drain pipes for Onslow and Karori reported tnat they considered the tenders received for earthenware and reinforced concreto drain pipes, recommend that fresh tenders be invited.
