Tli© conviction that Britain, United States, and probably Franc© will stand for democracy against the wave of autocracy which is spreading in Europe and the world was expressed by Mr Lloyd George, speaking at a gathering of tho Chicago Chamber of Commerce. Ho asserted that democracy, after its great triumph in the World War, is now imperilled through the movement seen in the guise of dictatorships in Europe. “Ultimately,” he said, “Europe will find its way along the path of peace, unity, and brotherhood.”
