THE RHINELAND
GRANT OF AUTONOMY. TO AVOID SECESSION. Australian and Gable Association LONDON. October 16. Tile “Daily Telegraph’s” Berlin correspondent states that ill order to forestall the complete separation of the Rhineland from Germany, President Ebert is being strongly urged to proclaim the Rhineland an autonomous state within the Reich, giving it freedom from Prussia. The Rhenish bourgeoisie support complete separation from the Reich, because they believe the country can thus rid itself of its reparations obligations.
