ENGLISH INVITATION
THE ALL-BLACK TOUR DAILY ALLOWANCE REFUSED BY ENGLISH R.U. DOMINION BODY MEETS. With Mr S. S. Dean in the chair, the management committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union met last evening to discuss the All Blacks’ English tour, Present were Messrs W. S- Glenn, M.P., A. C. Kitto, T. FletcheT, E. Wylie, E. McKenzie, and E. Little. A cable was read from the English Rugby Union in reply to the suggestions of the Now Zealand Rugby Union regarding terms. The only matters still to be finally settled is the number of matches. There are several matters still in course of negotiation, among them the number of matches to be played l and the intervals between Tests.
The New Zealand l Rugby Union suggested a daily allowance or 8s per diem for players: but the English Rugby Union disallowed this. It will, however, bear all incidental expenses on the tour. The New Zealand Rugby Union asked’ for two managers. The English Rugby Union agreed to one only.
