TO PRESERVE PEACE
AMERICA S HELP NEEDED "CAST YOUR MIGHT INTO SCALES FOR PEACE.” LLOYD GEORGE’S APPEAL. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.— Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cabin Association (Received October 16, 10.15 p.m.) NEW YORK, October 15 . Air . Lloyd George, addressing a publio meeting at Minneapolis, said: “Until the United States, with its power of moral command in the world, : casts its influence into the 6cale for peace, I despair of the future. Somebody said Americans were doing their best to forget the Great War. It ought to be your pride that you entered without selfish purpose, and for a holy idea. I trust that once more the nation, in its own way, wi'l cast its great might into the scales for peace.” Phenomenal crowds gave Mr Lloyd George an ovation. He left on Monday for Chicago, where he will endeavour to preserve his incognito. He met Lord Birkenhead at a private dinner at St. Paul’s, where both were the guests of honour.
