POSTAL APPOINTMENTS

F. O. SAVINGS BANK. MR F. T. R. JOHNSON. It was announced yesterday that Mr F T. H. Johnson {Assistant Controller oi Savings Bank© and Accounts) has been appointed Controller of the I’ost Office Savings Bank, in succession to Mr H. A. R Huggins, who is retiring on superannuation. Mr Johnson joined the department in January, 1685, as n clerk in the G.P.0., Wellington. Subsequently he was transferred to Napier, and afterward© to Auckland. Returning to Wellington, he was promoted to the position of third Money-ordor and Savings Bank clerk, in 1903, nnd four years later he was appointed sectional clerk in the accountants' branch. In 1903 he was appointed principal clerk in the money-order di\ision. After filling so\eral other appointments, he was promoted to the position of Assistant Controller of innings Banks and Accounts, which position ho has held for the past six years. McGregor. chief postmaster nt Copier, has been appointed chief postmaster at Dunedin. He joined the department iu 1885. and was stationed at Akarou. and at Christchurch. For a time ho was chief postmaster at Hokitika, and was afterwards assistant postmaster at Dunedin. He also served as chief postmaster at Gisborne, and for the last two years has occupied a similar position at Napier.
