An audicnco of 2<H)O people at Turcoing heard Rinaldi’s oratorio, ‘'Children of John the Baptist.” Rinaldi is 11 years old, and he composed the oratorio when lie was eight. He rehearsed the whole of the performanix?, and conducted the closing passage. The work was enthusiastically rceeri od, the musical critics describing it aft simple and full of entrancing melodics and impressive choruses. They say the final gloria is a work of high inspiration. Rinaldi’s mother has refused to allow the hoy to tour the United States, not wishing his boyhood to be warped by his musical genius. So far his health is good, and he is developing normally, though given to occasional fits of reverie, *in which he docs not seem to bo aware the world is about him.
