In the Supremo Court, Robert Eagle, labourer, sued the New Zealand Picture Supplier*, Limited, for £750 dama<if*B for injuries received by falling into a cellar in tho Grand Picture Theatre. He attended u session, and admittedly dozed in his seat Getting up, he opened a door winch ho thought led to a lavatory, and fell into the cellar, his injuries including the loss of the si,ght of ono eye. The defence was that plaintiff was intoxicated, and used a door obviously not intended for use by the public. The jury awarded plaintiff £375.
Legal argument in connection with a motion for a nonsuit will be taken tomorrow
