AUTOMATIC TELEPHONES
HOW TO USE THEM. Telephone subscribers using automatic instruments have received notifications from the department with respect to the proper care of their telephones. The dial, it is pointed <>ut, must be operated with a finger. The use of a pencil or other hard substance tend* to injure the mechanism and prevent accuracy in the mechanical action of the number required. The dial, when moved, must ho permitted to return to its normal position without a-sf-istance, and nothing must he done to hasten tts action
