OPENINC OF THE SEASON OLD NAVALS CLUB SOME PRACTICE SCORES. Members of the Old Navals Rifle Club commenced the season at Trentham on Saturday by holding a practice shoot at ranges 300 and 50 yards, resulting in the following scores:— 300 500

KARORI CLUB The Karori Rifle dub fired the first portion of their first trophy competition on Saturday, the ranges being 300 and 500 yards. The weather conditions were ideal and the scoring well up to standard The highest score off the rifle was made by Dep.-President H. V. Croxton, who finished with 40 at 500 yards. Rifleman E. E. Act! and, one of the olub's youngest members, shot consistently, and with hie handicap reached club standard. SUBURBS CLUB FIRST COMPETITION SATURDAY* The Suburbs Club opened its season with a teams match between teams picked by the president and deputy-presi-dent. The latter team won by 25 points. C. Miiroy (95) was top for the winners, and J. Smart, with 92, for the losers. The club starts its first competition for trophies next Saturday with 10 shots at 500 and 600 yards ranges. The Petone Rifle Club opened its eea. son on Saturday with a teams match, 10 shots each at 300 and 500 yards, and. resulted iu a win for Dep.-President Warburton’s team by 23 points.
