WOMAN SHOT DEAD
REVOLVER ACCIDENT. A tragedy occurred at the home of William Tooley, Mulgrave street, Launceston, lost week, when his wife, Isabel Jane Tooley, aged 41 .-yearn, wa»s accidentally shot dead whilst Ik-i husband was cleaning revolver. Tooley, who is a returned soldier, t was at the time handling a. German autcni>atio revolver, which he had brought back from .the war with him. The magazine had been extracted and not knowing a live cartridge remained in the chamber, he pressed the trigger. The bullet narrowly missed a domestic servant, who was standing in the room and pierced the heart of Bis wife, who was sitting in front of the file. Tooley was too distressed to make- a coherent statement to the police, and beyond rnoanihg, “I did not know it was loadcould throw very little light cn the tragio happening.
