MEETING AT KELBURN PARK. Tlie Victoria College Amateur Athletic Club held a sports meeting last evening at Kelburn Park. A' high wind was blowing, which militated, against good times, but the contests were interesting, and attracted a fair number of spectators. Mr A. C. Ivitto acted as liandicapper, Mr J. O’Sullivan as starter, and the judges were Messrs A. Thompson, F. Hodson, and H. Pollock. The results are as follow: 100 YARDS HANDICAP. First heat.—H. Whitehead (2.yds), 1, L. Richardson. (4yds) T. The oouncil ef the New Zealand Amateur' Athletic Association, met last night- Mr M. Burnett presided, and there *were present also Mesas A. C. Kitto, F. Wilson, S. S. Dean, H. U. Murray, and V. Hugo (secretary). It was decided to inform the Manawatu association they cannot he granted a championship cycling event for next Saturday’s meeting, as the notice given would not he sufficient. It was resolved to inform, the Wairarapa sub-centre that one mile and three miles championship cycling events are to be included in the programme of the New Zealand) championship meeting, to be held in Wellington on February 24th. Cycling handicaps of half-a-mile and two miles also will be on the programme. The matter of reinstatements wae mentioned, and it was announced that J. D. F. Carroll had been reinstated. The question of reinstatement of A. Pickin, of Masterton, was held over till next meeting. The programme for the New Zealand championship meetiilg was framed. The events to count for the shield are 100yds, 220yds, 440yds, half-mile, one mile, three miles, 120yds hurdles, 440yds hurdles, one mile walk, three mile walk, high jump, broad jump, hop, step and jump, shot putting, hammer throwing, javelin. throwing, discus throwing, pole vaulting,, and mile relay race. 1 Messrs J. Ellis and A. B. Sievwright were appointed judges of walking for the championship meeting.
