“ LOOKING FOR SCRAPS!”

ENGLISH AVIATORS. FIGHT IN AMERICAN REVOLT!. TION. Aeroplanes have been used to a large extent during the revolution which has been raging for some months in Paraguay (South America), and English aviators have played a prominent part in the aerial combat* which have taken place. In one of these combats, which occurred on the railway line eastward of Asuncion, a government _ aeroplane piloted by r. Paraguayan airman and carrying an English sharpshooter named Stewart, was brought down by the revolutionists, both occupants being killed. Near the Paraguayan town of Encamacion, on the Parana river, several combats took place, which were witnessed by the inhabitants of Posadas, in Aigentine territory, on the opposite side of the river. The aeroplanes were also employed to a considerable extent in bomb-throwing, raiding the enemy’s camp, and causing general consternation ; they formed an effective means of overthrowing the revolutionary move--ment. According to the latest accounts, the revolution has now practically terminated in the Government’s favour. Horsea and other property belonging to British subjects were commandeered by both sides without payment.
