KILLED BY A HORSE
MAORI’S SPINE FRACTURED. Per Press Association. GISBORNE, February 5. A native named Waihipine Kaweua died at Tokomaru Bay as the result of being rolled on by a horse. He was riding in hilly country on Thursday morning when the horse tripped and threw him, and rolled on him. An examination showed he had fractured his spine. He lingered on till Sunday. Deceased was 52 years of age, and was employed as a station hand.
