The Wuiruna, from Pacific Coast ports via Auckland, was expected to clear Melbourne on Friday, February 2nd, for Adelaide and Sydney, to complete discharge, proceeding thence to Pacific Coast ports to load for AVellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Melbourne and Sydney. WAIMARINO AT DUNEDIN. The AVairoarino, from Pacific Coast ports via North Island ports, cleared Lyttelton on Saturday for Dunedin and Sydney to completo discharge. She was due at" Dunedin yesterday. WAIKAAVA LEAVES ’FRISCO. The Waikawn, from Pacific Coast ports, sailed from San Francisco on Friday, January 26th, for Napier, Wellington, Sydney and Melbourne. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company advise that the Maimoa is to leave Auckland to-day for Napier, where she will complete loading. She is expected to sail finally on Saturday for London via New York and Boston. CANTERBURY STEAMERS. The Canterbury Steamship Company advise that the Gale is due hero from Lyttelton to-morrow, and is to sail again the same day for Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin and Bluff. The Calm is due here on Thursday from Bluff) Dunedin, Oamaru, Timaru, and ia to sail again the same day for Wanganui. The Kohi is due'back at Wellington at the end of the week from Nelson, and is to load her® for Pieton, Nelson and bays. PAPAROA FROM HOME. The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that the Paparoa, which sailed from Southampton on January 11th, left Panama on AA r ednesday last. She is due at AVellington on February 26th, with passengers for this port, and cargo for Auckland. MAIIANA FROM FIJI. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company has received advice that the Mahana is due at Auckland to-day from Levuka, with London cargo for discharge at Auckland and Lyttelton. RUAPEHU’S . ITINERARY. The Federal Company advise that the Ruapehu, now loading at Napier, is to leave that port to-morrow; evening for Bluff, Dunedin and Wellington. Sho sails finally from this -port on February 21st for Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow and Avomnouth, and is proceeding via the Panama Canal. PIAKO'3 MOVEMENTS. The Piako left Auckland on Saturday evening for Lyttelton, Bluff, Dunedin, Timaru, Wanganui, Wellington and Auckland. Sho is to sail finally from the latter port on February 28th, her ports of call being New York, Boston, and West Coast of England. SAILERS SOLD. News has been received that .the following well-known sailing vessels, which have often been seen in Australian waters, have again changed hands, viz., the ship Lyngo, 1573 tons register (ex Ilamingja, ex Like, ex Dumbarton Rock); ship Dvergso, 1679 tons register (ex Transatlantic, ex Mersey) ; and the fourmastedi barque Hero (ex Iverna), 2167 tons register. These three vessels have been sold to the A.S. Svedvik Skibsrederi Svelvck, for 150,000 kroners. The first-named ship, the Lyngo, lia4 recently been fixed to load Balti© timber at Christiania for Melbourne, and it is very probable that the other two vessels, which have been laid up for many months, will soon bo placed in commission. MOTOR PASSENGER LINES. Tho continued! and rapid development of the use of oil-engines in large ships is exemplified in the new liner, tho Adda, which has just been completed for the Elder, Dempster Company, for their ex£ress mail and passenger service between iverpool and tho West Coast of Africa. The vessel is tho finest and most up-to-date passenger liner in which internalcombustion engines have been fitted, and tho fuel consumption will only bs about 21 tons daily, against four timos this amount of coal in a corresponding coal-fired steamer. The advantage from the point of view of the passengers is obvious, since tho painful process of coaling is dispensed with, and tho ship can carry in double bottom tanks sufficient fuel for the round voyage between Liverpool and AVest Africa and back. LARGEST FLOATING DOCK. Southampton has in definite view for her port wliat will he the largest floating dock in the world. The contract" for this has been placed with Sir W. C. Armstrong, AVhitworth and Co. The dock will be nearly 1000 ft in length and will thus be able to accommodate the Majestic, tho largest vessel aflout, which has a gross tonnage <of 56,000 tons and a length of 912 ft It is understood that the dock will bo built in the Armstrong yard at High AVulkcr-on-Tyne. Over 20,00(1 tons of slecl will go used, and it is hoped to complete tho dock in about nine months.

TAHITI FOR SYDNEY. The Union Company’s steamer Tahiti sailed last evening for Sj-flney wtih passengers and cargo, in continuation of her voyage from San Francisco. VINTTA FOR NEW ZEALAND. A private cablegram received in Sydney states that the steamer Vinita sailed from San Francisco .on January 20th for one port in New Zealand. Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. The AUnitu js a steel vessel of 5531 tons. MERCHANT -SERA 7 ICE GUILD. The secretary of the Merchant Service Guild (Captain F. A. Macindoe) advises that a general meeting of the Merchant Service Guild is to bo held in the guild rooms at 10 o’clock this morning, when important business will be discussed. JERSEY CITY TO LOAD. Tho Jersey City is loading for London and Hull at the end of February, lifting cargo at Auckland, Napier, "Wellington, and Lyttelton. Mr E. G. Zolirab is the local agent. ULIMAROA DUE TO-MORROW. The Huddart-Parker intercolonial steamer Ulimaroa sailed for AVellington at noon on Saturday, and is due at Wellington on AVednesday. She will sail on the return trip on Friday. The roKSol has cargo and 284 passengers for this port. BEREINGAR FOR. DOMINION. The Union Steamship Company advise that the chartered steamer Berengar ia to load at the Pacific Coast during March for Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. NAVTJA FOR. ISLANDS. The Union Steamship Company advises tVat the Island steamer Navua. is to leave Auckland this afternoon for Fiji, Samoa, and Tonga, with passengers and cargo. FLORA RECOMMISSIONED. The Union Company’s steamer Flora, winch has been recommissioned, is expected to leave Auckland this evening for AVellington, and will then proceed to Lyttelton. MARAMA’S MOVEMENTS. The Union Steamship Company advise that the Marama is to leave Auckland on Friday for Sydney, from which port she comes on to AVellington. She is due here on February 20th. ■ MOERAKI FOR MELBOURNE. The Moeraki. fiom Wellington, is to leave Bluff to-morrow for Melbourne, where sho is due on Monday. She is timed to sail again on the following AVednesday for Bluff. Dunedin, and AVellington. NEW TURBINE. FOR MAORI. A now turbine for- the ferry steamer Maori was discharged from the oversea steamer Otarama at Port Chalmers on Thursday. The turbine was shipped at Liverpool- It weighs about thirty tons, and the sheer legs were requisitioned to remove it from the steamer’s hold. The turbine will bo installed in the Maori when she goes to Port Chalmers to un. dergo annual overhaul. PERSONAL. Mr H. Martin has left the AVahino as fourth engineer. Mr W.
