WOMEN’S NATIONAL RESERVE
At the annual meeting of the honorary division of the Women's National Reserve, -in Auckland, Mrs Averill wav elected patron; Mrs Fitchett, presidentr vtice-presidents, Dr Susie Buckingham, Mesdames Napier, C. Whitney, and L. Bloomfield: committee. Mesdames Hes* keth. Bettany, Von Stunner, O’Brien, Tisdall. G. M. Fowlds, Bankhart, Mo Garry, and Hallwell; bon. secretary and treasurer. Miss Olga Paykell. The eecretary reported that £137 15s 7d had been raised bv collection, entertainments, and in various ways, for the mothers* rest room. The Karangahape Businessmen's Committee met the members, and a sub-committee was set up to look for suitable premises. Mrs Fitchett and her committee deserve the greatest praise for their determination to carry out their scheme in the face of great opposition where least expected. This branch also recently gave a most successful entertainment for the wives and mothers of soldiers and sailors. Her Excellency Lady Jellicoe was present, and was greatlv interested, and was most gracious tc all.
