WORLD’S SCULLING RACE
FUNDS FOE HADFIDLD. With such an object in view as the world’s sculling championship it was thought that there would be very little difficulty in raising the J 2400 required from Auckland to send Hadfield to Australia to row Paddon for the title, but the public appear to be very slow in contributing the balance of the amount. The committee who have the arrangements in hand are again going to personally wait on sporting men in the northern city to-day (Monday) and it is hoped that their efforts will bo successful. The turn of .£IOOO is required, of which Wanganui guaranteed (and has contributed) JO6OO.
