PLUNKET SHIELD
THE SOUTHERN TOUR WELLINGTON TEAM SELECTED. The Wellington team which is to go south this week to compete in the Plunket Shield series was selected' by Mr K. H. Tuoker (the sole selector) on Saturday, and is as follows:—>. W. S. BRICE (Petone). D. C. OOLLENS (Old Boys). W. A. BARER (Midland). 11. M. MoGIRR (Hutt). S. DEMPSTER (Institute). B. J. RORTLANG (Wellington). W. J. CONDLIFFE (Hutt). M. HENDERSON* (Y.M.C.A.). J. S. HIDDLESTON (Wellington). J. HUTCHINGS (Midland). J. BRUCE (Midland). A. RONALDSON (Old Boys). , W. A. ALDERSLEY (Hutt). The team is a strong one, and should be able to keep up the reputation Wellington has gained this year. There axe same who think there are two omissions in C. Holland and P. R. Fulton who, it is maintained, can give a good account of themselves in all departments of the game, and should have been oliosen before Ronaldson and Henderson. Alden&ley has at last got a chance, and no doubt the selector will now be able to, see the true worth of the Hutt player who surely is good enough for any team Wellington cm put in the field.
