THE CZAR’S GUARD
ESCAPE FROM IMPRISONMENT. REFUGE IN AMERICA. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received February 3, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, February 2. Two hundred officers and men, formerly of the Russian Czar’s Imperial Guard, have arrived at Ellis Island from the steamer Madona, after three years’ imprisonment and flight. The party, which claims refuge in the United States, has been held up, pending an investigation.
