PRISON SITE AT SEATOUN

RESIDENTS’ STRONG PROTEST.

At the monthly meeting of the executive of the Seatoun and Bays’ Progressive Association, held last night, the question of the proposed prison site at Seatoun was discussed. From information available it was learnt that the Department's intention is to erect shed accommodation for prisoners employed making concrete blocks for a prison to ha erected at Point Halswell. It was decided to send a letter of protest to the Minister for Justice, and also to the member for the district, and to bring the matter before tho residents at a public meeting to be held at an early date.
