LEAVES FOR NOUMEA. The French battle-cruiser Jnle* Michelet left Wellington for Noumea (New Caledonia) at an early hour yesterday morning. From Noumea she goes to Japan, and she is. not-expected to return to France-untal-about the end-of July. Mr O.' R. Bendall, Consular Agent for France, mentioned to a “Times” reporter yesterday that Admiral Gilly, of the French warship Jules Michelet, which has left port, had informed him that he had received a number of letters and inquiries from both official and private eonrees, and to which he found it impossible to reply, owing to the shortness of the veuel’s stay in these waters, and his being folly occupied during the whole of the time he was here, but that he has the intention of replying to same in the course of the' voyage, and posting to the interested parties as soon as possible.
