FIRE AT GREYMOUTH

HEAVY DAAIAGE RESULTS. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. GREYAIOUTH, November 11. A fire occurred about 3 o’clock this morning in Kyle’s tailoring and Tymon’a draper’s shops in Tainui street, and Aiawhera quay. The outbreak apparently started in a store slied, and spread to the roofs of the connecting premises. The stocks were greatly damaged by water. Air Kyle's loss is estimated at over £IOOO above the insurance, which is held in the Alliance office (£650) and the Standard (£250). Air Tymon’s stock was all damaged by water except in the men’s department. His insurance was £IOOO in the Atlas office, £IOOO in the London and Lancashire, £IOOO in the New Zealand, and £IOOO in the Phoenix. There was no insurance an fittings. The premises were owned by J. E. Williams, and were insured for £SOO in the New Zealand office and £ISOO in the Standard.
