SERBIAN PRINCE
BANISHED TO NISH. COMMUNICATION WITH ROYAL HOUSE FORBIDDEN, Australian and N.Z. Cable Association BELGRADE, September 1. The King has decreed that Prince George shall he deprived of all communication with the Royal House for twenty months, and must reside at Nish under surveillanoe. A message from Belgrade dated August 19th, stated: “The Government has decided to strip Prince George of all the privileges of the Rocyal House, and has prohibited his entering the Royal properties. Prince Georgs, who abdicated in 1909, returned - recently from abroad, causing trouble. He claims to he the direct heir to the throne, as Alexander, ;who wan recently married, has no • son. Prince George complains in the newspapers that the .allowance the Government grants him is insufficient for his exalted station. The Government’s reply is that the income is sufficiently liberal. Prince George’s behaviour is not what might be expected from a Royal Prince, and the Government warns him that if ho persists in his present course it -will be compelled to take notion against him. Prince, George replies that he will not he intimidated, and demands to know what provision -his father, King Peter, made for him. It is rumoured that King Peter’s will disappeared after his death.”
