INTERNATIONAL CRICKET
MATCH AGAINST SYDNEY UNIVERSITY. LOCAL ENTHUSIASTS TRYING TO ARRANGE.' . Mr Kendall, one of the members of the Sydney University football team, at present touring in this country, is. also a member of -the cricket eleven of Sydney University. Advantage of that fact is being taken by local 'V arsity enthusiasts with a view to arranging a match with the Sydney Varsity eleven during the coming summer. It is hoped that a team representative of the four New Zealand University Colleges will be available, some time in December or January to make the trip to Sydney. It is recognised that the Sydney , University eleven—containing as it does such well-known players as J. M. Taylor (of the Australian eleven) and Bardsley (younger brother of the famous Warren >—would pfobahly be too strong for any provincial team in New Zealand. The hope is, therefore, expressed that, if Sydney University should be able to tour the Dominion'in the 1923-24 season interest in their tour will extend beyond merely University circles.
