TO BE CONSTRUCTED AT CLYDBL QUAY. On the recommendation of a special sub-committee the City Council last evening decided to instruct its officers to prepare plans for tho construction of Turkish and hot salt water baths, as provided for in the 1920 loan schedule, on land at the corner of Chaffers street and Clyde quay. Provision is to be made, if possible, for a tepid swimming pool. The committee expressed the opinion that the proposed site at the corner of Thomdon quay and the Hutt rood was not ' suitable tor' the erection of swimming'bath for the Thomdon district, and the city engineer was asked to report as to suitable available filter in the district.
