ELECTION OF OFFICERS; nm ream association. CHRISTCHURCH, August 81. At the National Council of Women’s Conference the following officers were elected:—President, Miss B. Melville; vice-presidents, Dr De la Mare, Mezdames Carmalt, Jones, Shepherd, Misses Coad and Henderson; treasurer, Mias Jackson. The appointment of the secretary was left in Hie hands of tbe president, Miss Henderson being unable to continue the office as dm bad been ordered to rest. The next conference is fixed for Auckland. The following resolution waa recorded: ‘That in the council’a opinion national prohibition is desirable and in the best interests of the community.”
