WELLINGTON B TEAM SUCCUMB TO WEST COAST, GREYMOUTH, August 30. West Coast defeated Wellington by 15 pointy to 6. There was perfect weather, and *2OOO spectators were present. The game was largely a forward one. the weighty Coasters prevailing. The visiting backs, individually, were fair, cepecally Carmodv, McCabe, and McCleary, but tne Coast backs showed better combination, Russell, Ryan, and Nelson being particularly nippy. The ‘best forwards wore Hall ana Hagan, for the Coast, and King and Wylie, for Wellington. The first spell ended, Wcllintgon 6 points, Murphy kicking two penalty goals, and West Coast 3 (a try by Bannister). In the second spell Egan ecored from a i forward rush, Nelson converting, and also helping Russell to score from a passing movement. Russell potted a goal. West Const were the better Team throughout, except in the latter half of the first spell. when the Visitors livened up. The local representatives were attacking rdf most of the second spell.
