PROPOSED CO-OPERATIVE DAIRY COMPANIES ACT.
(To the Editor "N.Z. Times.”) 1 Sir,—At a conference of dairymen _at Levin recently the following resolution was passed ' unanimously "That as dairymen we view with concern the present legal and doubtful status of coop. dairy companies, and the unsatisfactory results of endeavouring to fit in with existing law, we therefore determine to ask with all urgency and our united voice, that a law be placed on the Statute Book, to be called 'Co-operative Dairy Companies Act.’ ” The Prime Minister promised to obtain a report from the Crown Law officers on suggestions submitted to him. Pressure and unity will be necessary to achieve the end desired. Now is a favourable time, and the welfare of co-operation is at stake. Significant and sinister is the opposition. Te HORO.
