POSITION IN AUSTRALIA. TRADES UNIONISTS TO CONSIDER By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received August 22, 11.15 - p_m.) SYDNEY, Augtfct 22. An important conference of trade unionists representing the Commonwealth has been convened for August 23rd to discuss the increase of hours of work to forty-eight weekly and the reduction of wages, and future action to be taken in the event of unions disagreeing with these measures. The conference will decide whether it will hand the whole matter over to the Commonwealth Council of Action in order to put out a policy fur the whekf movement in Australia.
