YESTERDAY’S SITTING. POLICE, CIVIL, AND BY-LAW OASES. Mr F. E- Hunt, S.M., presided at the Magistrate’s Court, yesterday, when police, civil, and by-law cases were heard. INCORRIGIBLE ROGUE. Charles Hewald, alias Hewaid Carl, alias Botchill, charged with being an incorrigible rogue, was, on the application of Sub-Inspector McNamara, remanded to appear at Masterton on the 25th inst. For leaving a vehicle unattended, Ella Kopp was convicted and ordered to pay costs. On a charge of obstructing the footpath defendant was convicted and discharged. Cyril Bertram Lempriere, for speeding, on the Hutt road, was fined 20s and costs. Arthur Thomas Barrow, who had left his motor-car unattended, was fined 10s and costs. For a similar offence, Alfred William Duncan was fined 10s and costs. James David Martin Mclntyre, on two charges of failing to have his motor-car properly lighted, was fined 10s and costs on the first count, and convicted and ordered to pay costs on the second. W. S. Park was fined 5s and costs for having no lights on his car. George Purdon and William Sunnex, who had driven , unlighted vehicles, were each fined 20s and costs. For allowing stock to wander, Sarah Archibald was fined 30s and costs; Robert Blood, los and costs; Albert Bowden, 200 and costs; William Cunningham, 20s and costs; Maggie Everett was convicted and discharged; Kenneth Gandy was fined 10s and costs; Oliver Gardner, 10s and costs; Thomas Hilston. 10s and costs; William Ho wan. 40s and costs; Albert W. Palmer, 40s and costs; and William Telford was convicted and ordered to pay costs. MILITARY DEFAULTER. Alfred Lawton, who had failed to notify his change of address, was fined £5 and costs.
