DEATH BY DROWNING
INQUEST ON SEAMAN. The official inquiry concerning tho death of a man named Joseph Oairns, whose body was found in the harbour on Saturday afternoon, was conducted at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday by the Coroner (Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M.). The evidence of Dr. O. M. Hector indicated that the body, which wias in an advanced state or decomposition, had been in the water for some eight or ten days. Sergeant James Sweeney, of tho waterfront polioe, said that papers found on tihe deceased showed' that he waa a trimmer and a native of Glasgow. The coroner found that death was due to drowning.
