WAKATU CHAMPIONS INTERESTING MATCHES PLATED AT KARORI PARK. REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS CHOSEN. A large numter of hockey matches were played at Karori Park on Saturday afternoon. The day was fine, but the wind cold, and one or two of the grounds were very slippery. SENIOR RESULTS.

SENSOR MEN’S MATCHES WAKATU v. 'VARSITY. A very keen yet cleanly-contested game between Wakatu and 'Varsity, the leading teams for the championship, with 16 points each, resulted in a win for Wakatu by four goals to one. Wakatu played the better game, and also had rather the best of the luck. In the first spell W. Hood scored twice for Wakatu, and 'Varsity failed to score. Fairly early in the second half, however, H. Cousins, from a penalty bully, put the ball into the net, making the game— Wakatu 2, 'Varsity 1. A long period of open play followed, in which both teams made repeated, but vain, efforts to score. Then D. Hood shot a goal for Wakatu, following it up, towards the close of the spell, by another. Both teams played a very fast game, and were noticeably tired at the finish of the game. Wakatu showed better combined play in the forward division, and also made a stronger defence df their goal. 'Varsity eeemed too inclined to go in for long drives, and their passing in front of their opponents' goal was rather loose. Two referees (Messrs E. Casey and H. Hatch) 11. Watchman refereed. ediaTTwesley. A well-contested game between the above teams was won by Huia by one goal to nil. Neither team scored in the first spell, but in the second Stacey netted the ball for Huia. Referee, Mr R. J. Lloyd. KARORI v. RAMBLERS. Karori beat Ramblers by four coals to three.
