Bannatyne and Co. advise that the departure pf the Anchor Co.’s steamer Titoki from Wellington for Westport and Greymouth, has been postponed till noon to-day. The Katoa, which arrived at Wellington at 5.15 p.m. yesterday from Auckland, is to sail to-dav for Lyttelton, Dunedin, Oamaru, and Timaru. A rumour was ourrent in shipping circles vesterday that the Canterbury Company (had disposed of their steamer Gale. No confirmation of the saie was obtainable from offioial sources. The Kamo left Dunedin yesterday for Wellington via ports. She is due at Wellington on Wednesday, and will sail on the same day for Nelson and New Plymouth, taking cargo for the Taranaki port. The Komata Is to sail from Westport at 5 o’clock this morning for Wellington with passengers and. a cargo of coal. The vessel is due at Wellington about 4 o’clock to-morrow morning. The Wingatui will sail from Bluff today for Wellington via ports. She is due at Wellington on Friday next, and •will sail on the same day for Auckland, taking general' cargo. Bannatyne and Co. advise that the Waimea is due at Wellington on Tuesday morning from Nelson. The vessel will sail from Wellington at 3 p.m. on Tuesday for Nelson, Westport, and Greymouth. The auxiliary scow Kohi is to sail from Wellington to-day for Picton and Onakaka, taking bricks for the last-men-tioned port. The vessel will subsequently load stone at Sandy Bay for Welling'ton. The Canterbury Company advise that their steamer Calm will not arrive at Wellington until to-morrow from Bluff, Dunedin, Oamaru, Timaru, and Lyttelton. The vessel wilt leave Wellington on Monday for WalTganni, and is due back at the former port on Wednesday •to load for Lyttelton, Timaru, Oamaru, Dunedin, and Blnff. TRAWLER FUTURIST DUE. The new steam trawler Futurist, 241 tons gross, is due at Wellington shortly from Grimsby, England, via Fremantle and 'Melbourne. The vessel was purchased at Home by Mr R. S. Alward, of Napier, and she is regarded as a most up-to-date English trawler, a vast improvement on New Zealand trawlers. Bhe was bought from Sir A. Black, and her name was changed from Papemburg to Futurist. She is olae6ed 100 A 1 at Llbyd’s. The vessel registered 11 knots on her trials. By the use of superheated steam the Futurist is able to work on an economio coal consumption basis. When Mr Alward bought the vessel he had her refitted by the Humber Graving Dock atfd Engineering. Co. at Immingham for her voyage to New Zealand. A large refrigerating plant was installed ,by the. Liverpool Refrigerating Co. The vessel is also equipped with wireless. The Futurist left Grimsby on May 23rd, proceeding via Gibraltar, Port Said, Perim and Colombo; she arrived at Fremantle on August Ist, and at Melbourne on August 11th. The vessel proceeds thence to Wellington and Napier. The Futurist is under command of Captain J. W. R. Richmond (Grimsby), with Mr J. Duffy (Grimsby) as chief mate. Hr G. C. Alward, brother of the owner, is chief Engineer. Mr 3. Charlton and Mr P. Charlton (Grimsby) are second and, third engineers respectively. The total crew consists of fourteen hands. When the vessel commences operations she will be under command of Captain Ormes, of the Nora Niven. navua~for Islands. The Hnion Co. advise that their Island steamer Navua will leave, Auckland on Monday for Fiji, Samoa and Tonga. ULIMAROA FOR SYDNEY. With characteristic punctuality the Huddart Parker- Co.’e intercolonial passenger steamer Ulimaroa sailed from Wellington at noon yesterday direct for Sydney. The vessel is due at her destination on Tuesday morning. THE ATHENIO. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Co.’s liner Athenic is to leave Auckland on Wednesday for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers to complete discharge and to load, at both ports. The vessel will subsequently load also at Timaru anti Wellington. She is due at Wellinton on September 12th and will leave that port on September 17th at daybreak for Southampton and London via Monte Video and Teneriffe.

MAH ANA’S MOVEMENTS. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Co. advise that the Mahana will leave Timaru to-day for Lyttelton and Wellington to fill up. The veseel is due at Wellington next Thursday, and will sail on the 29th instant for London via Monte Video and Teneriffe. MAUNGANUI LEFT PAPEETE. The Union Co. have received advice that the R.M.S. Maunganui arrived at Papeete at 8.30 a.m. last Tuesday from San Francisco, and sailed again at 8.3 t a.m. for Earotonga and Wellington. The vessel is due at Wellington next Saturday and will sail on the same day for Sydney. WHAKATANE AT AUCKLAND. To discharge a large inward cargo the New Zealand Shipping Co.’s steamer Whakatane, 7055 tons (Captain Burton Davies), on her 37th voyage to New Zealand, arrived at Auckland on Thursday morning from Liverpool. She had an uneventful voyage, via Panama, calling at Pitcairn on the night of July 31 s’ to land one bag and take in two bags of mail. On Tuesday night the Whakatane was able to hear the Bloemfontein by wireless. Included in the steamer’s cargo are:—Tin plates, galvanised wire, cornflour, whisky, steel bars, window glass, plate glass, bicarbonate of soda, wire, barbed wire, bar iron, and sundries. including paints,.oil and nails, it is expected that the Whakatane will sail for Wellington early next week. FLOEA FOE AUCKLAND. The Union Co. have been advised that the Flora left Earotonga at 8.30 p.m. last Tuesday for Papeete, en route from Auckland. THE EASTEEN SEA. Dalgety and Co. advise that the U.S and A, Lino steamer Eastern Sea will not be able to get away from Wellington before next Tuesday for New Plymouth, Sydney and Melbourne, in continuation of her voyage from New York.
